I’m Jemma, the founder of Squared SEND Advocacy & Support. I provide practical, supportive and legally informed SEND advocacy grounded in both professional expertise and lived experience.

For over a decade I’ve worked in the charity and social care sector supporting families, children and young people through complex casework, advocacy, guidance and crisis support. Alongside this, I am a parent to three children with EHCPs and have navigated the SEND system personally- from assessments and provision disputes to delays, decision-making challenges and challenging local authority practice.
This combination gives me a unique perspective- one rooted in empathy, clarity of process, and outcomes families genuinely need.
I believe in advocacy that is:
• Honest and transparent
• Grounded in law and good practice
• Focused on empowering families
• Clearly communicated, with no unnecessary jargon
Whether you’re at the start of the EHCP process, challenging a decision, preparing for appeal, or seeking guidance, my aim is to support you with confidence and clarity.
If you’d like to understand how SEND advocacy support could help your situation, I’m here to talk- even if you’re unsure what you need yet.
To ensure my practice is firmly rooted in law, good practice and statutory guidance, my professional training includes:
✔ BSc degree in Social Care
✔ IPSEA SEND Law Levels 1, 2 & 3
✔ CPAG Welfare Rights training (including PIP, DLA, LCWRA and appeals processes)
This blend of SEND law, welfare rights and social care knowledge supports families at every stage of the SEND journey.
I have extensive experience supporting families with:
This diverse background helps me provide balanced, confident and effective SEND advocacy support, especially where systems feel adversarial or unclear.
My advocacy work isn’t just professional- it’s personal.
As a parent navigating multiple EHCP journeys, I’ve experienced:
This lived experience fuels my commitment to ensuring no parent feels alone in the SEND process - and that every family has access to clarity, rights-based advice and strategic guidance.
